Peters
With over three decades of experience in the mental health and addiction treatment space, Martin Peters brings a rare blend of clinical expertise and operational leadership to Samarpan. A Registered Nurse and Certified Substance Abuse Therapist, Martin’s journey began in 1991 and has since spanned continents, treatment models, and pioneering recovery programs.
His credentials include advanced certifications in Relapse Prevention and Addiction Counselling, and deep training in evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), and Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT).
Martin has successfully opened or restructured six inpatient residential programs across Asia and the UK-including the largest private rehab center in Southeast Asia until 2020. He has been instrumental in shaping Samarpan’s non–12-step approach, introducing clinical technology systems like KIPU, building hospital partnerships, and leading international accreditation efforts, including our CARF and GORSKI–CENAPS credentials.
Martin has represented addiction treatment and relapse prevention at international platforms such as the GORSKI-CENAPS Symposium (USA), CARF Advisory Boards, and ASEAN conferences. He has lectured at institutions including Mahidol University (Thailand) and the University of Sargodha (Pakistan), sharing his knowledge with future addiction specialists.
Martin joined Samarpan in 2021 to lead the launch of our flagship inpatient facility in Pune, developing its residential clinical model and overseeing daily operations. In 2024, he was appointed Chief Operations Officer, bringing his global vision and ground-level experience to unify our residential and outpatient services with excellence, compassion, and client-centered care.
